Unmasking the Slayer is a Documentary on "Understanding and Surviving Cancer", A state-of-the-heart views that dealt deeply with all you need to know about Cancer and how to survive it with True Life stories.

For many years, the focus on cancer treatment has centered on destroying the cancer cells. While reducing tumour burden can be of benefit, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery do not, in most instances, cure cancer. In order to cure cancer one must change the underlying causes of the disease. Prevention they say is better than cure.

Cancer (medical term: malignant neoplasm) is a class of diseases in which a group of cells display uncontrolled growth (division beyond the normal limits), invasion (intrusion on and destruction of adjacent tissues), and sometimes metastasis (spread to other locations in the body via lymph or blood). These three malignant properties of cancers differentiate them from benign tumours, which are self-limited, and do not invade or metastasize. Most cancers form a tumour but some, like leukaemia, do not. The branch of medicine concerned with the study, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer is oncology.

Cancer may affect people at all ages, even foetuses, but the risk for most varieties increases with age. Cancer causes about 13% of all deaths. According to the American Cancer Society, 7.6 million people died from cancer in the world during 2007.

Naija Gurus, as part of its quest for promoting and enhancing the lives of the people has stood up against cancer to enjoin the quest on eradication of the killer disease for the betterment of all of us. This project seeks to use one of the most popular tools today in Nigeria – documentary - to unmask the slayer disease; Cancer to the good conscience of the Nigerian people on how to understand and survive Cancer. This project is important because the whole argument about the propriety of eradication of cancer has been withdrawn from the realm of human reason to mere scientific trials, cures and theories. The people do not have an idea of what happens behind the walls or the nature of the disease that kill people even faster than some of the proclaimed diseases.
